2010 Comes

Ah, the new year comes very close now. I sigh as I type this out as I remember how the year has gone for me.

2009 had changed me a lot, to be honest. Life in school seems like a big problem as I tried to grope with the numerous challenges tossed at me like studies and Prefecthood. Then there was the crisis that occured, and that left me wishing that things would get better. In the end, things DID somehow get better, though I daresay it left quite a mark on us Prefects.

And then there's the bull-crap about the new Board. Personally, I thought they did a helluva good job trying to piece things back in place. Why the others see it another way, I can't really say. Maybe we all have our views.

Personal life is OK. I don't have to elaborate it to you people. XD

But I believe that I have undergone many changes that have made me a better person. With the new year coming, I can only hope that I can face it well.

I wish you all a very Happy New Year!

New Year

New Year. And I'm at home with family. Waiting for a better and brighter tomorrow,

Sigh... Happy new Year, friends.

Christmas!

Christmas time is here
Happiness and cheer
Fun for all that children call
Their favorite time of the year

Snowflakes in the air
Carols everywhere
Olden times and ancient rhymes
Of love and dreams to share

Sleigh bells in the air
Beauty everywhere
Yuletide by the fireside
And joyful memories there

Christmas time is here
We'll be drawing near
Oh, that we could always see
Such spirit through the year
Oh, that we could always see
Such spirit through the year...

~ Sung in 'A Charlie Brown Christmas'

MERRY CHRISTMAS FRIENDS!

Memory of the Day

Memory of the day: Another group of happy kids!
C'mon now, who doesn't want to be in a picture? Anyway, these guys and gals were in the right place at the right time. And now, their smiles are immortalized in thi picture here.

Ah, those LTC days... what fun we had! What a show!

Oh, Merry XMas to all of you!

Updates

If you're reading this, I'm now at INTI's IT lab on the last day of the Youth Empowerment 2009. We're just learning of the basics of blogging (which I know, obviously. LOL) and I'm actually having quite a blast! Well, of course, since I've not been blogging for quite some time, save for my scheduled posts. And maybe even pick up a few new tricks or two.

I must say, I've learned a lot more from this two-day course - a little more than what I learned in the LTC I went last year. Sure, there are some of the usual messages that we learn in leadership building courses, but I must admit it was VERY fun! I must applaud all the participants for showing so much passion and spunk throughout the entire course.

Oh yes, I'll miss my days here.

And kudos to Dr. Sia who gave loads of very useful advice, the Alpha Team of facilitators and everyone else involved in the entire programme. I salute the participants as well, especially those such as Natasya, Thomas, R.J., Marjan, Phillip, Justin Chen, Thean Soong, and anyone else who has really performed well.

Till we meet again, I bid you adieu!

Memory of the Day

Memory of the day: The author goes after the ball!
This was taken during our BBQ and Football Night. The match played in this scene was us CS-ians United versus Team DISCO, but for the life of me I don't remember what the score was. I think we lost this one, but won the others. I think. Still, it shows that I can get into some sporting action if I wanted to!

Many thanks to my friend Melwin Arul for taking this excellent shot! =)

Memory of the Day

Memory of the day: Pui Yee and Siew Mian, all smiles at the beach, while Jia-Ee coolly shows off his shades.
I'll bet Koy Yew wasn't expecting Brother Matt to take this pic, but hey, no biggie about it. =) After all, all these pix really leave some memories of all the fun we had in the LTC. I mean, if you look at all the LTC pics, almost all of them has Prefects smiling away, even during the sessions. (Remember the LOL pix? I have a post of those pics but don't remember when they were published) Honestly, you don't get to have this much fun anywhere else.

Sigh... I miss those great days.

Memory of the Day

Memory of the day: A fun day at the beach back in Teluk Batik.
The primary focus in this pic would be Miss Sue Jane on the right. If you were there, you can clearly see that she has, in her hand, a baby crab! Unfortunately, this pic doesn't really have a good shot of the little guy, but I can guess your reaction. I don't remember how she found it, but rest assured she let it scuttle away on the sands after admiring it for awhile.

(Note: Jane's an animal lover, FYI)

Memory of the Day

Memory of the day: "Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to introduce something I'd like to call... the band."
Ai Yean on keyboard, Sue Jane on bass, Karen on drums. Man, what a show they put on! Well, the song choice was quite limited to Here In My Home (unofficially our batch's theme song!) but nevertheless they did great! Everybody had a rocking good time, especially when Aaron took the mic to sing the song! LOL!

Sigh... those were the days. Maybe someday I should get all of my batch together and have another blast!

Updates

Well, I must say that I've a packed schedule ahead of me. Firstly, heading to Penang for Aunt's wedding and then to Nilai for INTI's Youth Empowerment. Well, I'll bet that I'm gonna have a good time.

As for you people, I hope that you're having a great holiday season, before NS dawns upon you. Yes, while you guys linger in a camp for 3 months, I'll be here earning a living! Haha!

Ahem, anyway, I'll try to get back to you people ASAP. In the meantime, have a nice day!

Memory of the Day

Memory of the day: Jia-Ee: "Hey, is Aaron for real???"
OMG, when I look at this pic I can't help but laugh out loud. Kudos to photographer Timothy Ong for taking this amazingly humorous snapshot. Seriously, it contains more than a thousand words to describe it. XD

Note how Ben is trying to get our previous Head Boy Levinra to strut his stuff. LOL, that look on Ben's face is just priceless! XD

Memory of the Day

Memory of the day: "My bunny jumped over the barbed wire..."
Oh yes, the first day of our LTC began with this cute song, based on the ol' "Bring Back My Body To Me" tune. Mr Bryan (the facillitator, right of the picture) noted my expression and thought I looked depressed 'cause I lost my bunny! (Note: my normal expression is usually quite serious) LOL, it was a humorous thing, especially when everyone broke into the tune coupled with hand movements to go with the lyrics. Heh, I won't forget that.

If you go to his blog about this time (I think) you'd see he's going off for a holiday. Wonder why, though...

The Avatar of Khaine

The Avatar is indeed a monstrosity to be beheld. A towering giant wreathed in flame, the Avatar is the living embodiment of the Eldar God of War and Murder, a living demigod that walks mortal ground. Armed with his mighty blade, the Doom That Wails, and with a body of pure molten lava impervious to even mighty cannon blows, the Avatar is destruction incarnate.

To look upon the Avatar is to look in the eyes of Death, surely meaning that you would die at the hands of this infernal god of war. No one ever escapes his fearsome wrath.

Modern Warfare 2

Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare II deserves one word to describe how it is: awesome!

(Note: To be honest, this review is based on my own observations. I'm not a huge fan of FPS games, so I let my bro show me how cool it is! XD If you want a more professional review, you can head over to my bro's blog. Sorry! =P)

Though many would complain that its story isn't as long as the first game, nevertheless it makes it up by including a great story that's as great as a real movie, what with all the plot twists scattered throughout the campaign. Truly, you'll forget that you're actually playing a game and watching a movie unfold in front of your eyes.

The story takes place five years after the death of Russian ultra-nationalist leader Imran Zakhaev. The world falls into turmoil once again when terrorists storm a busy Russian airport and kill countless innocents. The blame is placed on the United States, but naturally things don't seem right. You'll be battling your way in numerous different locations across the globe with numerous foes to face, whether its militia in Brazil or Russian troops on American soil.

Wherever you are, EXPECT LOTS OF INTENSE GUN BATTLES! They will seriously test your military skills in FPS games. Your enemies are now much smarter than in CoD4, as they WILL try to flank you to make sure you do not succeed. So always guard your flank. And they're much tougher too, so be very careful!

Sure, the story is short but believe me you'll be hooked onto it so much you'll want to replay it over and over again to enjoy the movie-like feel it gives you. Infinity Ward did a good job in presenting the plot, and kudos have to be given to them.

That, and the new weapons you have at your disposal. Not only do you have your standard M4A1 Carbines and Russian Kalashnikovs in the arsenal, you ave more new weapons to use! From the SCAR-H and Clarion FAMAS assault rifles, to the AT4 disposable rocket launcher and the AA-12 automatic shotgun, there is a lot you can toy around with. Oh, and the riot shield comes really handy as well. There are also new weapon attachments available, like the neat thermal scope and the useful heartbeat detector that really come in handy in certain difficult missions.

Vehicle sections are now available in the campaign, too, especially if you've seen the gameplay trailer in the snow-capped mountains of a Russian military airstrip. But be warned, for these sections can be quite a challenge, as you'll be faced with lots of enemies who are out to get you. The highlight has to be where you race against time to catch up with your foe in a rubber dinghy near the game's end.

Characters here display the same amount of emotion as they did in the original game. How they react to their surroundings (though most of these scenes are scripted) is very much something to marvel at. But it's more noticeable in how they react in combat. However, don't be surprised if they do last for only a brief period of time as your enemies swarm your squad!

All in all, campaign is a real treat to all CoD fans, who're looking for some intense fighting and a cool plot to boot. When you've finished the story, you'll be able to access the Museum which contains all the character and weapon models featured in the game, as well as vehicles featured in the game. (although you can't drive or fly them) I'll keep this a secret because it's quite a treat, but whatever happens DON'T press the bell!

Then there's SpecOps mode. Basically, this is a game mode where you and a friend have to go up against numerous waves of enemies as you try to complete the mission you've been assigned with. For example, you might have to clear out an area of all foes, or stealthily pass enemy patrols. As you complete them, you are awarded stars depending how you've fared. With a certain amount of stars, you'll unlock more SpecOps maps to complete, gradually increasing the difficulty of the maps. And believe me, this mode is meant to be played with a friend, as going solo usually means trouble. Especially when you have to go up against the Russian Juggernauts, who are easily able to absorb heavy amounts of punishment from your guns. Oh yes, be afraid of them!

When you've survived SpecOps, there's always Multiplayer to jump into. It's essentially like the usual fare you find in CoD, except for new perks, maps, and Killstreaks. Also featured are Deathstreaks for those of you who keep getting pawned by the others, so there's some balance had in the games. The only problem is you'll need to reach a high level to unlock most of the modes available. And newbies will get thumped real bad by pro players, so watch it! (I can't elaborate more on this, as you know I can't access the Net!)

My verdict for MW2 is definitely a high one (even though I didn't play it! XD) and I highly recommend it to all you FPS fan[atic]s.

War...what good is it? Answer: endless amount of time to kick enemy butt!

Updates - Post SPM

The SPM is finally over!

For now, I'll be lazing away at home, and also hang out with some pals one last time before we part ways. That done, I'll be heading of to Penang for my aunt's marriage before returning to Ipoh and seeking my fortunes in a part-time job. It's only fitting for a SPM leaver to find one to support his/her family rather than laze and deteriorate at home!

What about you guys? What do you have to say? Let me know of what's your plan.

Oh, and just so you know, I won't be able to respond to you so quickly as you do know I don't have a connection at home, and my family can't really afford it yet. I'll try my best to get back to you people, OK?

Take care, and I'll see you guys soon! =)

Memory of the Day

Memory of the day: The picture I wanted to put up for so long: Fareesh gone noob!

Though not as wild as the "Mark Gone Noob" incident, this shows our boy's true colors. But it can't be said that he's a fun guy. Too fun, perhaps...

Guardians

Guardians are the militia of the Eldar Craftworlds. In times of peace the Guardians pursue their normal civilian roles. All Eldar however are trained in warfare and can be called to arms if their craftworld is threatened. As the number of dedicated warriors - Aspect Warriors - in a craftworld are simply too few, Eldar dedicated to a civilian path serve as Guardians in battle, forming the bulk of the Eldar armies. Guardian forces consist of two main types - the tactically flexible Defenders, and the more assault-oriented Storm Guardians. Both are equipped with mesh armour.

Indeed, the Eldar Guardians prove to be one of their greatest assets in battle, as the Guardians prove to be effective warriors in battle.

Without Number

The Tyranid creedo is "Without Number", meaning that they have limitless numbers of creatures with which to use against their foes, all the more to consume them and assimilate them into their Hive fleet. They are much like Orks, similar only to the fact they spawn at alarming rates. If you think this isn't much, imagine the sky being blacked out by thousands upon thousands of gargoyles that fly in the air to swarm their foes.

I shudder to think of how I'd die if they'd arrive on Earth.

The Phoenix Lords

From left: Baharroth, Fuegan, Jain Zar, Asurmen, Maugan Ra, Karandras.
The Phoenix Lords are the greatest warriors of the Eldar, second only to the Avatars of Kaela Mensha Khaine himself. They are the greatest and most ancient of all the Exarchs. They cannot truly die for even if their body is destroyed another Eldar will find and don their armour. Thereby his consciousness will be overtaken by the first, strongest, and dominant mind of the original wearer. Only the doomed Bards of Twilight know all the details of the Asuryata, the legend of the Phoenix Lords. This ancient epic tells the origins of the Phoenix Lords and also speaks of their future. It warns of the Rhana Dandra, the final apocalypse when all the Phoenix Lords and the Eldar will gather in a final battle against Chaos. Its ultimate validity is unclear, something shared with every prediction of the future or tale of the past. Nevertheless it seems to be the main source of knowledge about the Phoenix Lords.
(Sourced from Lexicanum)

The Phoenix Lords are indeed like demigods themselves, and they instill fear in their enemies' hearts as they lead their warriors into battle. Maugan Ra, the Harvester of Souls, will bring swift death with his shuriken cannon, the Maugetar; Baharroth, the Cry of the Wind, will fly upon his enemies with his Hawk's Talon blasting away; Fuegan, the Burning Lance, will annihilate all in his way with his Firepike and his Burning Axe; Jain Zar, the Storm of Silence, will slay her foes in an instant with her devastating weapons, the Zhai Morenn: the Blade of Destruction, and the Jainas Mor: the Silent Death (a throwing weapon); Karandras, the Shadow Hunter, who will stalk his prey and crush them swiftly; and finally Asurmen, the Hand of Asuryan, who leads the Phoenix Lords, as he is the founder of the first Aspect Shrine: the Dire Avengers.

All of them worthy foes with millenia of experience!

The Great Eldar

The Eldar. A race of elven like humanoids who are the oldest race (well, except the Necrons) in the Warhammer 40,000 Universe. They were once the most powerful race that existed before the Rise of Mankind, until the events of the Fall that brought about the destruction of their great race. Now the survivors of the race live on their Craftworlds, while those who had foreseen the Fall lived away on worlds of their own long before their race succumbed to the dark powers of the Warp, continuing to live in a Universe wrought in the chaos of War and Misery. It is their far sight and their stalwart heroism that enabled them to survive for so long.

Made up of brave warriors and powerful mystics, the Eldar are not a force to be reckoned with. Each of their warriors are the embodiment of powerful warriors. From their mainstay Guardians to their elite Warrior Aspects and the mystical Warlocks, they all work extensively to ensure their race's survival.

Though the Universe is full of the dangers of the Forces of Chaos, the Eldar firmly believe that they will end their reign of terror. Time can only tell, though. For now, the Eldar still remain a great mystery to many.

Boys Like Girls' "On Top Of The World"

Look up, the stars are fading
And I am still here waiting
To see you again
Be with you my friend

When the moon is gone forever
I hope you're up there somewhere
I'll see you again
Be with you my friend

'Cause all the roads they lead to where you are
And all the streetlights shine like they were stars
That's where you are

Let's spend tonight on top of the world
And we can do anything,
We can be anything
I'll meet you tonight on top of the world
As real as it seems,
You're only in my dreams

Look out across the water
Faces of lonely daughters and mothers who care
But just can't be there
Swear that I will see you someday
I have to find a way
To show you I care
Even if you're not there

So I'm following the road to where you are
(Meet you tonight on top of)
The streetlights they will guide me to the stars
That's where you are

Let's spend tonight on top of the world
And we can do anything,
We can be anything
I'll meet you tonight on top of the world
As real as it seems,
You're only in my dreams

My heart is empty without you
Sometimes you don't know what you do
And I need you tonight
I'll fall asleep and it's alright
Close my eyes and I'll be by your side

Let's spend tonight on top of the world
And we can do anything,
We can be anything
I'll meet you tonight on top of the world
As real as it seems,
You're only in my dreams

Let's spend tonight on top of the world
(On top of the world)
As real as it seems,
You're only in my dreams

Sigh

That's all I can say for now. SPM is drawing closer.... (T.T)

Updates

SPM draws nearer every passing second. I wonder how much longer till I can finally relax my brain. I have lots to catch up with, though, and I'm afraid that my blog will be inactive in that time. For now, I'll leave whatever post I can schedule on my blog and hopefully, when it's all over, I'll get back to you all. In the meantime, I wish you all the best of luck.

Memory of the Day

Memory of the day: Dom and Joel; senior and junior.

This was taken at the Final Commission Outing held at Nahulan's house. I remember when I arrived there, I was surprised to see my Lady Comm Head at Chief's (Nahulan's nickname) computer busy engaged in a firefight with Terrorists! (Note: for all you people who aren't gamers, this is from Counter-Strike. Ask your pals about it)

Well that wasn't the only highlight: there was good food, fun water games and a very funny photo session, which I will put up soon enough.

Tyranid Terror: Carnifex

I love the Tyranids featured in the Warhammer 40K Universe. Why? Easy: they're mindless killers created for the sole purpose of laying waste to a world and consuming its natural resources before leaving it a barren rock.

The Carnifex (pictured above) is the epitome of sheer brute force. Possessing the strength greater than that of a Land Raider, the Carnifex is all muscle and blade. Functioning as the Hive Fleet's siege weapon, it can easily massacre ground forces with its massive rending blades and the numerous biomorphs it can add to itself. From the deadly Venom Cannon (also shown above) that allows it to hit ranged targets, to adrenal sacs that increase its speed, and even tusks on its lower jaw. All these make the Carnifex a more potent weapon to be brought to bear upon the enemies of the Tyranids. Whether the Hive Fleet needs a tanker to absorb damage from heavy weapons, or a Carnifex built for the kill, there is always one for the job.

Thoughts

Here's a quote I found on WikiQuote, with regards to W40K:

"In an hour of Darkness a blind man is the best guide. In an age of Insanity, look to the madman to lead the way."

Rather dark and cynical, ennit? What do you think of it and its meaning?

W40K!

Have I told you that I'm also a fan of the Warhammer 40,000 series? Here's something to give you a hint of what it is. (Sourced and adapted from WikiQuote, Black Library novels)

It is the 41st millenium. For more than a hundred centuries, the Emperor has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. He is the master of mankind by the will of the gods, and master of a million worlds by the might of his inexhaustible armies. He is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of Technology. He is the Carrion Lord of the Imperium for whom a thousand souls are sacrificed every day, so that he may never truly die.

Yet even in his deathless state, the Emperor continues his eternal vigilance. Mighty battlefleets cross the daemon-infested miasma of the warp, the only route between distant stars, their way lit by the Astronomican, the psychic manifestation of the Emperor's will. Vast armies give battle in His name on uncounted worlds. Greatest among his soldiers are the Adeptus Astartes, the Space Marines, bio-engineered super-warriors. Their comrades in arms are legion: the Imperial Guard and countless planetary defense forces, the ever-vigilant Inquisition and the tech-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from aliens, heretics and mutants - and worse.

To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. It is a universe you can live in today – if you dare – for this is a dark and terrible era where you will find little comfort or hope. If you want to take part in the adventure then prepare yourself now. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

But the universe is a big place and, whatever happens, you will not be missed...

Memory of the Day

Memory of the day: Jia-Ee: "Ladies and gents, your attention please?"
OK, that's not what he said, but you get the point. Being the day's emcee isn't an easy thing to do, especially when you got a bunch of Prefects itching to get into some Boogie Woogie action. So kudos again to our honourable Masters of Ceremony:

Master Lee Jia-Ee, CS
Miss Sara Lee, HOMIES
Master Lee Kitt Leong, DISCO
Master Benjamin Kee, SAC

And also to the rest of you who aided in making the LTC a great one. Viva St. Michael's!

Sincerity

Sincerity. How can we really tell if we're really being honest, or if others are truly honest?

It's sad, really. Trust is all about truthfulness, knowing that one can put his/her faith in another in terms of honesty. If we aren't truthful, are we gonna get anywhere? Certainly not.

If we aren't sincere, how are we to live a life full of joy and pleasure? What's the point of letting it continue?

Sigh, such is life...

STARCRAFT II - The Wait Is Unbearable....

I really can't wait for StarCraft II to be launched. With a brand new storyline that continues the long war between the Terrans, Protoss and Zerg; a revolutionized single-player mode; new units and tactics to utilize - the possibilities are endless!

And then there's the Campaign Editor they're bringing back. Oh man, I can't wait!

Well, that is, if my computer can even support it. If you see the graphics they used, you'd be amazed.

So here I'll provide you with some pix on SCII warfare. Hopefully, they're good enough. Enjoy!

TIME FLIES

My goodness, time flies so very fast, doesn't it?

And the SPM's still looming forward slowly as ever.

I'm gonna crack up soon.

AAAUGH!!!

Five For Fighting's "The Riddle"

There was a man back in '95
Whose heart ran out of summers
But before he died, I asked him
Wait, what's the sense in life
Come over me, Come over me

He said, "Son why you got to sing that tune
Catch a Dylan song or some eclipse of the moon
Let an angel swing and make you swoon
Then you will see... You will see."

Then he said,
"Here's a riddle for yah
Find the Answer
There's a reason for the world
You and I...."

Picked up my kid from school today
Did you learn anything causing in the world today
You can't live in a castle far away
Now talk to me, come talk to me

He said,
"Dad I'm big but we're smaller than small
In the scheme of things, well, we're nothing at all
Still every mother's child sings a lonely song
So play with me, come play with me"

"And Hey Dad
Here's a riddle for yah
Find the Answer
There's a reason for the world
You and I....

I said,
"Son for all I've told yah
When you get right down to the
Reason for the world...
Who am I?"

There are secrets that we still have left to find
There have been mysteries from the beginning of time
There are answers we're not wise enough to see

He said... You looking for a clue
I Love You free...

The batter swings and the summer flies
As I look into my angel's eyes
A song plays on while the moon is high over me
Something comes over me

I guess we're big and I guess we're small
If you think about it, man, you know we got it all
Cause we're all we got on this bouncing ball
And I love you free
I love you freely

Here's a riddle for yah
Find the Answer
There's a reason for the world
You and I....

Memory of the Day

Memory of the day: Ben gets rumbled!
Back at the Final Outing last year, everybody was busy rumblin' most of their mates who were there, one being Aaron Oo (I think I have a pic somewhere...) while another was Ben. As you can see, everyone surrounded Ben to give him a nice and satisfying smack on the back with a loud and resounding thump. Oh yeah, it hurt so bad, so good!...

Sigh, those times were great.

Hyped Up?

Hyped up for SPM? I dunno.

LOL.

I'll make it! I know I can!

Right?

Updates

Sitting here in IT Lab, bored to death. The damn connection is slow here.

Anyway, I'm here 'cos I don't feel like going for Moral. No disrespect, but we're deviating from our Moral studies this time. I feel like I should be at home revising each theme and memorizing them than stay in class and listen to some random ramblings.

Chemistry's up next after recess. I look rather forward to it, and also look forward to going for a Deepa party at Nakhie's tomorrow. If I can go, that is.

See you soon! =)

My deepest condolences to Master Andrew Chow and his family. I hope he and his family will find peace.

Appaling!

It is indeed apalling to see how we have degraded so much. Why so?

Especially in regards to those with a high position. Why do they forget that they have responsibilities to their fellow men and the others?

Why all this misunderstanding? Why all this change? Why the corruption and the pain and the misery?

Sigh...

Updates

Alright, things might not be bright for my blogs. Since I don't have any Internet access at home, I may be restricted to checking and updating them regularly. So, if any of you have anything to ask of, please do contact me through my hand phone number. (Which I won't list here, of course, for security) My blogs will still have regular posts, don't worry. In a way I'm still active, though I don't really check on them often. Sorry guys.

Anyway, good luck to all of you!

Updates

Things've been rather OK, I guess. Farewell was fun, and don't worry, I'll get a post on it up soon. But how soon remains to be seen.

Catch you later! =)

Paul Young's Wherever I Lay My Hat (That's My Home)

By the look in your eye I can tell you're gonna cry.
Is it over me?
If it is, save your tears
for I'm not worth it, you see.
For I'm the type of boy who is always on the roam.
Wherever I lay my hat that's my home,
I'm telling you that's my home.

You had romance, did you break it by chance
over me?
If it's so I'd like for you to know
that I'm not worth it, you see.
For I'm the type of boy who is always on the roa-oam, mm.
Wherever I lay my hat that's my home,
mm, that's my home.

Oh, you keep telling me, you keep telling me I'm your man.
What do I have to do... to make you understand?

For I'm the type of guy who gives the girl the eye,
everybody knows.
But I love them and I leave them,
break their hearts and deceive them everywhere I go.
Don't you know that,
I'm the type of man who is always on the roam,
Wherever I lay my hat that's my home.
Wherever I lay my hat, oh oh, that's my home, mm
yeah, that's my home
and I like it that way.

Mmm oooooooooooh nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah
Ahhhhhhh woooooooh nah nah nah nah nah nah nah

You know I can't, make it on the phone.
Sometimes that's the way, that's the way...
I'm not saying,
I'm not saying I don't love you,
Just gotta do...
Do do do

Ohh
I have to go..
My ownnn... way
(fade out)

Magnificent

I'm actualy brimming with delight after my bro commented on my latest sci-fi venture. Yahoo!

Anyway, the reason I titled my post as Magnificent is to remark at how magnificent Life can be, when you look at it in a positive outlook.

True, I have ranted a lot about Life's unfair tendencies upon us. But then again, if you are positive and optimistic, you can see Life is truly a wonder.

One way to help you with this is to follow the Law of Attraction. As long as you remain positive, you can see gradual changes in your Life. So it does pay off to be optimistic. Who knows how lucky you'll be in future?

See you guys soon. Busy now.

Voyage of the Golden Dream: An Excerpt

The Golden Dream wandered lazily as it traveled through the warp, powering its way towards the Sanghrel System after its detour in the Mairensol System, analyzing the local populations of the inhabited worlds and their growth. The planet's satellite system failed to detect the ship's presence there, thankfully, as it was not to be discovered by anyone - not yet, anyway.

The Sojourner stood by the bridge's viewport, admiring the strange beauty of the warp, a mixture of colors and strange anomalies that appeared here and there, then disappeared from sight, like optical illusions. In all actuality, they were more than just mind tricks. The Sojourner was always perplexed by its unique yet dangerous nature to those who travel using the warp.

He was very much used to the loneliness that enveloped him now, accompanied by the chiming of the automated controls in the bridge. He preferred to stay away from the hustle and bustle of civilization and its businesses. Many millenia ago, he was like them: working their lives away as they feared the impending threat of war that would shatter their peaceful lives, worrying of themselves, their loved ones and friends... those times have long past him.

He was now the Sojourner, the chosen Herald of the Brightest, the mysterious race that was as old and as intelligent as the Masters Of Technology themselves. There were many tasks he must accomplish, and so far he has completed two hundred and ninety-seven thousand out of the five hundred thousand he was entrusted to complete. Not bad actually for twelve millenia worth of work.

The Golden Dream's artificial intelligence projected itself above the hologram console next to the Sojourner. It took the form of a Terran, much like the Sojourner was before he was Herald, though the AI was female and the Sojourner is male. She looked at the standing figure, not noticing her appearance.

"Still amused, Sojourner?" she enquired.

The Sojourner didn't turn to look. "I prefer to be alone, Syra," he replied sternly.

The AI, Syra, folded her arms and continued to glare at the Sojourner. Though still an AI, Syra was designed to be first and foremost a counselor to the Sojourner in all matters. He still didn't understand why the Brightest wanted a monitor for him, but probably it's to ensure he does what he must do. Or possibly to understand the human - or even his - mind a little more.

"The Golden Dream has been in warp for three hours," she told him, "and it won't be another twelve before we arrive at our destination. You should rest to prepare for the next task."

"I am always ready, Syra," he answered as he turned away from the viewpoint and walked towards his chair. He sat down, and from the left armrest a glass of lemonade materialized. He held the glas and took a sip, his eyes still on the viewport and ignoring Syra's presence.

She sighed deeply. Are all humans like him? she wondered. She never did meet any of the people the Sojourner met on his endeavour, let alone set foot on the planets he went to. It was all about secrecy; no one is to know of their existence, or it may jeopardize her creator's plans.

"In any case, you should listen to this," she then continued, willing one of the holo-monitors to activate. It displayed the starchart of the entire Sanghrel System, a five planet, four moon solar system orbiting the seventy-nine million year old Sanghrel Star, inhabited by 62 trillion people. Also displayed were several stray asteroids from the Glathus Asteroid Belt some fifteen light years from the system, and the passing Tarkin Comet that was soon to make its fly-by of the primary world, Sanghrel Secundus.

A location was highlighted on the starchart and magnified, showing a unit of three Imperial cruisers on routine patrol.

"So, we have a problem," he noted nonchalantly.

"Indeed, we do," she said half-heartedly. "By the time we arrive, we will be in their peripheral field of detection. It's unavoidable."

This is indeed grave news, the Sojourner told himself. For so long, they had evaded detection by the many races of the Multiverse and completed their missions without any problem. But now, due to a freak of nature, they weren't as lucky as they were previously. Perhaps this was what the Sojourner's superiors had warned him of: the time when he cannot remain hidden anymore. Had it already come?

"How long can the shields last before we make another warp?" he then asked Syra.

She looked astounded at his suggestion. Her arms akimbo, she replied sternly, "You intend to retreat?"

He nodded. "It's the only option, but only for awhile. Nothing else can be done."

"Shouldn't we retaliate?" she retorted, still upset. "Shouldn't we defend ourselves from their attacks, rather than become sitting ducks?"

He gave her a cold glare, and she immediately shut up.

"Are we even supposed to? Don't forget that we're not here to start a war, but to end all wars. Need I remind you? Or have you almost forgotten Bentakh Qurashi?"

She sighed with regret over her words, and the embarrassment over that previous incident. "I'm sorry," she apologized, looking rather ashamed. "I... got carried away."

"Make sure you don't, Syra," the Sojourner replied nonchalantly, drinking up his lemonade. "You're beginning to display Rage. Don't let the sin consume you."

"It won't," she said, reassuringly.

"Then I hope you're right."

They remained silent for a brief moment, lost in each other's thoughts. The Sojourners disintigrated the glass into nothing, and sighed as the psychadelic view of warpspace bend and distort, caused by the strange forces residing in it. Syra was just like that, always unpredictable and headstrong. It could mean trouble for her if she doesn't keep herself in check. It could also mean their deaths, and the failure of their herculean task.

An event he prayed will never ever happen.

But surely they would have had a backup plan; the Brightest were after all the race that came before the rise of the Technolords. Surely they would have one in case their plans could not reach fruition in the given timeframe?

But how sure is he? They had not contacted him nor any other race since their 'disappearance' countless millenia ago. They may have been consumed by the Old Gods; they may have been exterminated by the C'tan; they may have died of extinction - the possibilities are endless. Who can say?

"So," he then spoke, "what are our chances of escaping alive?"

"At most a probability of 129 percent, which means extreme survivability," she replied. After saying that, she gave him a glare and said: "I thought you knew that already?"

He laughed softly. "Just asking," he murmured to himself.

She gave him a sneer before she faded away, back to consult with the Golden Dream's Monitor within the mainframe. The Sojourner was alone again, but he didn't complain. He was better off alone and he like it that way.

He checkd the ship's time: still about eleven and a half hours left to arrival. And then it'll all happen: the violent fury of weaponry unleashed by the cruisers, smashing the shields of the vessel and probably turning it into scrap metal - provided the shields buckled before the enemy's ammo reserves went out. That would take them forever, though...

He relaxed in his seat, his eyes still watching the vivid changing colors of warpspace through the viewport. He suddenly felt tired, and slowly his eyes began to close as he drifted off into sleep....

....as a verse from an old Terran tune slowly repeated itself over and over again in his mind:

Don't know why I left the homestead,
I really must confess,
I'm a weary exile, singing my song of loneliness...

Under the Influence

NO, I am NOT drinking, and I don't have a license. The influence I meant is the influence of influence.

There was a Charlie Brown strip where Lucy forced him to get out of bed and join the baseball team in the game that was on. When Schroeder asked Charlie Brown where he was, ol' Chuck said: "Well, at first I thought I wouldn't be able to make it, but I finally got here under the influence of influence!"

Personally, I find that it's true. Influence is the biggest factor that changes our lives. Without it, would many of us be peacekeepers, doctors, scientists, astronauts, neurosurgeons, radiologists, etc.?

What say you? Drop me a Comment or CBox Message. I'll get back to you when I can.

Heh, hopefully things'll be OK for me. So far, it's a little fucked up

See you soon. I won't be boring in my next post, trust me. =)

Life Goes On - Post Confession, Day 4

Yeah, Life has to go on.

D'oh!

If not then what's the point in living? Right?

So anybody who knows someone I know too, but I can't seem to contact, please inform them of that post. Thanks. =)

It's important that they get the message.

I'll see you soon.

Updates - Post Confession, Day 4

So, things have finally simmered down. I've settled the Misunderstanding, though probably having its consequences. Nothing I can do for now except pray that things'll be alright.

I'll see you guys soon. =)

Updates - Post Confession, Day 2

The hols are almost over. What, already?? Oh well, at least I've used up the time wisely. Studying hard to face the SPM and hoping I'll do better.

When school reopens, I am NOT really anticipating the results of the Trial exams. I don't really want to know, but then again, it can't be helped... LOL.

Any tips any one of you guys could give me? Really appreciate it. LOL XD
I wonder how many times I've asked. LOL.

So, how're things going on for you? Good? Hopefully so. In the meantime we've a long road ahead of us. So keep moving on!

Anyways, honest apologies from the bottom of my heart to anybody I may have offended these past few days. Read my previous post if you don't get it.

Catch up with you soon. =)

An Update - Post Confession

So, how? Will you forgive me? Or do I have to beg it from you?

Let me know, OK?

A Confession: The Real Deal

OK, dear readers, let's play a game. It's called Being Honest, and I assure you it's an easy game to play. All you have to do is tell the truth. That's all.

So let's begin, starting with ME.

Oh, before I continue, allow me to apologize if anything I say hurts your feelings, intelligence or whatsoever. Just be prepared for anything. And don't think I want your sympathies. No; I just want you guys and gals to understand what I'm going through right now. Anyway, a million apologies in advance to all of you for everything I will type out here.

Truth be told, my Life sucks. Heck, it sucks so bad the only way I can let all the suckiness go is to drain it down a black hole for a few months or so. Yeah, you can say it's quite terrible.

Let's see, what do I have that bugs me a lot?

Firstly, studies. There seems to be a lack of spiritual willingness to pick up a book and study, or do continuous revision and in turn help me get good grades in the upcoming SPM. I've like, what, two months or so before the Day comes? So how?

Am I just gonna sit down in front of the computer all day and ignore my studies and my parents' nagging, or do I take a stand (err, I mean a seat) and revise 24/7? Of course it has to be the latter! So what's so hard about doing it? You tell me, 'cause I'm on a need-to-know basis here. If ever I can't seem to do the right thing, does this mean I am a failure? Well, I AM one already, aren't I?

The word 'loser' is written all over my face, just like how 'failure' is written all over Charlie Brown's. I can see them clearly in the mirror. (Thank you to those of you who don't) So what have I gotta do?

(Bro, if you're reading this, I sure could use your help - a lot of it!)

Secondly, my social life. Remember that Misunderstanding I had only recently? Well, I don't think I've really settled it properly. Well, that's what I think.

On this subject, let me ask you an honest question. Remember, you MUST be honest!

OK: do you really really really really HATE my guts? Heck, so much you could just kidnap me and dump me in a black hole? (and coincidentally solving my problems...) BE HONEST WITH ME, PLEASE.

If you do, then there must be some way I can change so that I can still have you as a friend for life. Take the Misunderstanding between me and Sue Jean. (Real names used since this IS a very honest post) I still think that I haven't resolved the matter yet. Have I?

I can only get an answer from her, so for now I'm still quite in the dark. But something tells me that I need to find a way to correct it somehow. I hate myself if ever I say or do something to hurt someone, whether or not I'm justified. In the end I'll always be the one asking for forgiveness and solve the problem. You can ask my friends; they'll attest to it.

I've been continuously attempting to find a way to explain the matter to her, but so far it's been in vain. So now, I make my stand not just to Miss Jean, but to all of you readers. (You too, bro!)

If imperfection was in everyone's genes, then I must have the rare Extremely Imperfect gene that is only found in one out of ten billion people. Everything I do seems to be adversely affecting my life and that of others. Everything I do doesn't please everyone almost everytime. And I mean EVERY SINGLE TIME. Add this with my extreme short-term memory loss, and you have a recipe for disaster.

In this case, what I say never turns out to be the right thing to say. I have had arguments with many of my friends before because of small things that shouldn't even be argued about. I had lost a friend before because of words (coupled with my own foolish actions). I almost lost another because he was nowhere to be found. (Mind you, I carpool with this pal of mine) And now it seems I'm on the verge of losing another.

WHAT THE F*** IS GOING ON????

To everyone of you - Sue Jean, Thomas, Ai Yean, Monil, Thean Soong, Leroy, Benjamin, Sara, Timothy, Tihn Chern, Wai Keong, Kelly, and anybody else I know - I deeply apologize for any wrong I have done unto you. I promise you all that I will not make the same mistake again. Just give me reason, but don't give me choice, lest history repeats itself.

I'm in lots of stress right now, so please do be considerate. Remember I'm not looking for sympathy, just your understanding. With your grace, you will be able to build me up into a better person, and the titanic burden I carry in my heart shall be lightened. Long story short, you're helping me greatly. And I will be thankful to you for all eternity.

If you have anything you'd like to add, please do leave your say in my CBox or Comments section. If you prefer to discuss this privately, then you can email me. It should be provided in my Profile.

Thanks for your time, and I'll see you soon. =)

Updates

At home now. Not blogging. This is just another scheduled post.

Probably sleeping now. Or studying. Or having breakfast. Dunno. Guess yourself.

Dedications - The Alpha

Yes, that's right. Public dedications. A new thing I'm starting up other than my usual updates and the Memories of the Day.

It WILL be embarrassing, but to prevent any of that, I'll use a certain moniker to address the person. If you know it's you being dedicated, you can just send me a reply to my email (it should be on my profile I thinks), so it may be a private conversation if you feel shy to reveal yourself.

Yeah, you can if you want to, but if you want your privacy protected, then email's the way to go. And those of you who read these, DON'T REVEAL that person's identity for good reason(s), mostly for security and avoidance of humiliation. Ok? Good. Thanks.

So, on to the first:

Friend,
I dedicate this to you.

We've only met sometime ago and only correspond rarely - through our blogs and our hand phone numbers. That's it. I don't complain; perhaps we'll meet more often in future. Who can say for sure when it comes to Fate's will? But even though we only communicate through those channels, I thank God for knowing someone like you.

But in the end, I only brought problems. A misunderstanding seems to linger on in my memory, and I can never seem to forget it. Though forgiven, I still feel that it's not enough to apologize that way. only if I can meet you again someday, face to face, can I truly know whether this burden can be lifted off my heart.

I apologize continuously until finally this matter is resolved. I believe it may have, but I can never be too sure. Am I?

Anyway, thanks again for the friendship we've shared. I still appreciate it, and I will always remember it.

So What Have You Been Up To?

I'm asking you people, OK? Drop me your say. It could be studying, babysitting your little bro, sleeping all day, crapping, dating, dreaming of your girl/crush, gaming, lazing about, working part-time.... whatever! I wanna know:

What have YOU been up to?

Drop your says at the Comments section or CBox. See ya soon.

This Is Life!

So what do you think makes Life so great or cruel? Do you feel that way? Is your life in control?

Ask yourself that question. But always keep in mind the Golden Rule of Life: it's what it is!

But surely you can change it? Of course you can! Who can't, and who won't?

It's all up to you and your choices. Life is full of winding roads that'll lead you to where you want to, depending on the choices you've made. It's all in your own hands!

I'll see you soon.

Updates - Again

Hmmm, my blog is rather quiet now. Wonder why.

Anyway, I still have the feeling that I'm still carrying a burden in my heart. Somehow. That's what Kuan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy, tells me in my heart. I'm worried.

What's your opinion? Am I still needing help, or I still need to look for forgiveness?

Homecoming - Part 1

As Aiur came into his view, Executor Rydas sighed with sadness, noting the floating Zerg vessels that orbited his now-ruined homeworld, and the bright lights that dotted the surface, signifying burning Protoss cities. It seemed so long ago since he left Aiur, and now coming back made him feel depressed. Who would have known the Zerg would have finally found them?

Truth be told, he longed to see his homeworld again after the numerous victories he claimed against the Zerg within the farthest reaches of space. He longed to return to his birth place and feel the soft grass under his feet, breathe in the fresh fragrant air and reunite with old comrades and tell tales of their victories and experiences. Now it seemed like all his hopes were dashed.

"Executor, the fleet is prepared," called out his second-in-command, Praetor Yaren as he stood behind Rydas. Almost as old as Rydas was, Yaren was the best warriors Rydas has in his fleet and he was proud to serve with him throughout the years. They were almost inseparable, Rydas and Yaren. Everyone knew that fact, and respected it as much as they respected each other.

"Have all elements begin the assault immediately," Rydas replied, still gazing at the planet from the viewport. "Judicator Aldaris and Prelate Zeratul await us on the surface. The longer we delay, the faster they will fall."

"Yes, Executor."

"Once all the Zerg attackers have been dealt with, prepare the ground forces to secure the landing zone. Make sure all survivors have been rescued."

"I understand, Executor. I will lead the ground assault myself."

"You always do, Praetor. Now go. Our brethren are in peril."

As the Praetor turned away to leave, Rydas had a thought.
"And Yaren," he then added, just as Yaren was almost out of the door.

"Executor?" he enquired, curiously.

Rydas turned around to face the Praetor and sighed.

"Be careful, old friend."

Yaren chuckled to himself. "You need not worry of me, Rydas. En Taro Adun!"

Yaren left the room. Rydas turned back to face Aiur again. The Carriers had begun launching their offensive upon the Zerg's space force, a titanic clash between mighty Protoss ships and hordes of Zerg flyers bombarding each other. He sighed again. Truly this wasn't much of a homecoming.

"Take us into the battle," he ordered the ship's navigational drive. His flagship began to spin around like a lumbering giant as it moved to join the fleet. If this was how it was meant to be, then so be it. The Zerg will not find him lacking.

So What Am I?

Let's be honest: am I a great person to know, or am I just another lame excuse for one? What do you think?

Personally, after hurting the feelings of a few friends, doing lots of mistakes and such, I feel rather down about it.

Let me know what you think.

WHY???

Patrick Swayze has passed away. I found that out when I was listening to the radio in the morn. I didn't realize that it was him, until I saw the papers today. I was like, "HOLY SHIT, WTF????"

Honestly, I thought he'd make it. But still he fought a long way, and his perseverance and courage are to be remembered. Condolences towards his family.

WHY????

The Chase

The cold snowy ground crumbled under Private Jansen deVire's feet as he ran for his dear life. Once in a while he turned back to look out for his pursuers, hoping that they wouldn't gain on him. It sounds impossible to escape from them, but if no one tried how would they know?

It was a risk Jansen never intended to make, but in the end it was necessary. At least he had his armor, and in this cold, it'd provided him the heat needed so he wouldn't freeze. But would he last long?

Jansen checked his rifle as he ran: 97 rounds left. Fuck, he thought. It would take more than what he has now to strike down all his enemies. With only this much left and no spare ammo, it'd mean game over for him. But this game over doesn't come with a restart.

He heard them thunder after him, and it made his blood boil. They must have been toying around with him, so they let him run ahead before they do. But their patience must've been expended by now - if they had patience, of course. Switching his gun's firing rate to "Semi", Jansen let loose a few rounds wildly at his pursuers. He couldn't let them get him, and he couldn't let his rifle's only rounds go to waste.

Another three rounds poured out violently from his weapon. He heard one of them scream in pain as a bullet tear flesh and bone. Out of satisfaction, he barked at them gloriously. Their thundering feet seemed to sound much faster than before. This would mean...

...he's fucked.

Running on for his life, Jansen misses a step and trips on his own feet., slamming hard into the ground. His rifle fell away from his grip, and he cursed under his breath. He heard them approach, now so slowly as they knew he was about to die. Not wanting to give up, Jansen crawled as quickly as he could toward his gun. One of them lunged forward and kicked him aside into a fallen tree. He howled in pain as he crashed hard into its bark.

The others ran up to him and threw him around here and there, seemingly enjoying this whole new ball game. Jansen, utterly terrified and angered at the same time, desperately tried to escape them but all to no avail. It seemed his death draweth near...

He crashed into the ground again, cursing the beasts at their amusement. He turned to look away, and there in front of him, his rifle beckonned. It seemed none of them noticed the gun that lay right next to him at all, oblivious in their excitement to toy with their prey.

With lightning quick reflexes, he reached out for the rifle and grabbed it. In a split second he noted its ammo indicator - now at 67 - and cocked the gun, just in time before they realized what juist happened.

"Assholes," he spat at them, before the gun spewed fire and tore the heads of half the group off. The rest backed off as he fired another salvo, tearing their brains apart as the whizzing projectiles punched through their cranium in a bloody mess. So much for protection, he thought.

The gun clicked on empty. Just as one more was about to be blown apart by him.

The foe spun around to face Jansen. He was perspiring excessively under the helm, but he knew he couldn't let his fear be seen. Both of them stared at each other for a while, before the attacker growled.

"Come on, you bitch," Jansen murmured to the hunter, as he held the rifle like a club. His eyes gazed longingly at the sky as he thought of home. Winter has just begun, and he hopes his family's doing fine.

Both sides waited for a fleeting moment before they lunged at each other's throat.

* * * * *

The cold snowy ground was stained with fresh red blood as the Zergling fed itself on the clawed remains of Private Jansen deVire. It looked up from its meal and watched its surroundings intently, before it ululated a loud and piercing shriek into the air.

Memory of the Day

Memories of the day: LOL!!!!
Yes there were tonnes of laughs given out during our LTC, so much that we nearly split our sides laughing till we die. Haha, I'm sure those of you who went will still remember how much we laughed out loud like maniacs! In our sessions, in our games, at 'makan' time, when we lingered here and there, etcetera. It's just all about fun fun fun.

Gosh, it seems so long ago...
